Hauts Forts trail race

This trail race from Morzine to Avoriaz offers the most beautiful views of the Portes du Soleil while you race around the Hauts-Forts, the highest summit in the Chablais and the Portes du Soleil.
Starting in Morzine, the 2 races finish in Avoriaz at 1800 metres.
The route takes participants over several passes and summits around the Hauts-Forts mountain range, offering up some of the finest trails in the Portes du Soleil: “Pleney’s ridges”, the Pointe de Nyon, Vallée de la Manche, Mines d'Or lake, Col de Cou and Vanet ridges, Col du Fornet, Morzinette...
There are three routes to choose from:
- 51km (accentt +4 000m)
- 23km (accent + 1 900m)
- A relay race (team of 2 runners) is available for the long race only. Relay point at the Lac des Mines d’Or.

Refreshments: 3 drink and food stations (solids & liquid), and several drink stations along the route.
All participants must have: 1 litre of water, food, survival blanket, mountain jacket (anorak/windbreaker suitable for bad weather in the mountains, mobile phone with the organiser’s contact details and/or mountain rescue).
Timings:
Collect race vests from the Palais des Sports:
- Friday 11th August from 2pm to 8pm

Starting times
- long route and relay at 7am in front of Morzine Palais des Sports.
- short route at 8.45am in front of Morzine Palais des Sports.
- Start of the "Youngsters’ Race" at the Mines d'Or' lake (time tbc).
Target times are in place at Mines d'Or lake and in Avoriaz (32th km - long race only).
Racers who do not make these target times must retire from the event.
The finish is in the centre of Avoriaz, near the tourist office and the beach-volleyball courts.
Prize-giving at 3pm in the centre of Avoriaz.

Food and drink stations:
3 main locations (food and drink): Plateau de Nyon, Mines d’Or lake and Jean Vuarnet square in Avoriaz.
Several drink stations will be available and/or signposted along the route.
Out of respect for the mountains, please do not leave any rubbish along the way.

Long route:

All participants undertake to bring the required equipment with them and to present it to the organisers if requested at all times during the event.

Note: the above tarifs apply until 16 May 2016.
From 17 May, prices for the short and long races will be increased by €5 (ie, €25 for the shorter route and €30 for the longer route) until 3rd July, then by €10 (so €30 for the shorter route, and €35 for the longer route) until 10 August, which is the registration deadline.
For the youngsters’ race, prices will be increased by 3€ from 17 May, then by 5€ from 4 July.
Postal and internet registrations accepted until thursday 10th August 2017.
For the relay event, prices increase by 10€ per team from 17 May (ie, 50€ per team) then by an additional 10€ from 4 July (ie, 60€ per team).
Online registration open until Wednesday 11 August 2016.
Registrations limited to 700 participants for all 4 races.

Registrations include the race vest, food and drink stations, event souvenir.
Internet registration open until Wednesday 10 August but limited to 700 places.
Reminder: no registrations on site after Wednesday 10 August
All participants must show a valid permit or medical certificate indicating that the bearer is fit to take part in COMPETITIVE athletics or running races (the certificate must be from a doctor and issued during 2016).
Certificates accepted are: FFA (Athletics), FFTri (Triathlon), FFCO (Orienteering courses), FF Pentathlon Moderne, UFOLEP or FSGT, mentioning athletics.
PERMITS NOT ACCEPTED: CAF, FFME OR FFS (skiing) OR FOR ANY OTHER SPORTING DISCIPLINE.
In accordance with current FFA regulations, the event is open to adults over 18 years old.
Juniors may take part in the 1shorter race only.
