Morzine has a great choice and variety for skiers of all levels, making sure no one will be bored on a Morzine ski holiday. Right in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area with 600 km of very varied skiing (tree lined runs, easy wide pistes, steep Alpine descents, mogul fields, snowparks, fun areas for children…) Morzine is an incredible mountain playground with vistas that are just as diverse as the ski terrain: from views onto Mont-Blanc, to forests, to snowy Alpine meadows and chocolate box villages… Taking the Pléney lift from Morzine centre you can leave and arrive back to the village by ski. At the top of the lift you’ll find its covered rolling carpet lift and easy runs for beginners, but also its mythical race piste right into the village.

Chamossière, the highest point in the resort, will amaze experienced skiers! Don’t miss the famous Chamossière freride area on a powder day! Nyon offers both fast steep runs from the summit, and gentle beginner slopes on the plateau that are perfect for beginners. Whilst on your Morzine ski holiday don’t miss getting the lift to the top of the point de Nyon and the Pas de l’Aigle viewing platform for views from Mont Blanc to lake Léman.This is also the area to check out the wild bird shows or even pit yourself in a race against a Falcon !

To get further afield from Morzine there are easy links to Les Gets or using the Super Morzine or Prodains gondolas to Avoriaz, and even onto the Swiss resorts.

​The Morzine-Les Gets ski area and the full Portes du Soleil area will be open from 23rd of December 2023 until 7th of April 2024.
The Avoriaz lifts will be open from the 15th of December to the 21st of April 2024.

The Portes du Soleil ski area abolishes the borders between valleys and countries, connecting twelve French and Swiss resorts located between Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva: Morzine, Avoriaz, Châtel, Les Gets, Montriond, La Chapelle-d'Abondance, Abondance and Saint- Jean-d'Aulps in France and  Champéry, Val-d'Illiez-Les Crosets-Champoussin, Torgon and Morgins in Switzerland.
 
In the Portes du Soleil you’ll find a great diversity of landscapes for ultra-varied skiing experiences. From wide open slopes to beautiful tree runs winding through the forests; gentle beginner slopes with magic carpet lifts to steep unpisted black runs; fun zones for kids to patrolled free ride areas for off-piste aficionados. And not forgetting real welcoming villages to ski down to at the end of the day. The Portes du Soleil is also known for being the gourmet skiers choice! Mountain restaurants offer a cosy shelter from the snow and a quality of cooking that will amaze you.

The Morzine fun zones have all been remodelled for winter 22-23. The Penguin park on the top of Pleney is now filled with new modules and games to keep little ones excited about skiing! As you head down towards the village you'll find the Chemin de Zouzous, a special animal piste on a quiet track through the forest where you can spot statues of local wildlife on the way down. A new, bigger boardercross and fun park is situated on the Nyon slopes. The perfect place to learn to jump and progress without the pressure of the bigger parks.
 
While Morzine and the Portes du Soleil combine together to provide one of the largest ski areas in the world, it also offers the perfect opportunity to take ski lessons and build confidence at the same time. Morzine is the perfect place to try skiing for the first time with some gentle ski slopes nestled together in our beginner’s area. Whether you’re looking to ski for the first time, hone your parallel turns or learn how to tackle off-piste, benefit from tailor-made ski lessons from a professional instructor who will be right at your disposal to provide all the support and guidance you need.

And once you have rented out your perfect equipment, you can simply leave it overnight at the shop to save carrying it back to you accommodation. You’ll get back in the morning to warm dried out boots and you’re ready to enjoy the Morzine slopes again!
