French National Downhill MTB Championships 2018

Morzine-Avoriaz has always been a mecca for top international riders, in fact many athletes competing in the Downhill World Cup spend time in Morzine during the season, whether to kick back or to train hard. And this summer, the Savoyard resort welcomes back one of the headline MTB events of mainland France, the French National Downhill MTB Championships. Over the course of 3 days the competitions will roll out in the heart of the resort. With 350 of the world’s best male and female riders, we can expect a really high level of competition! It’s true to say that French riders are often ranked among the best in the World Cups and indeed the current world champion 2017 is French and his name is Loïc Brun.

One day of competition to snag the title of French champion.

In Morzine, the French National Downhill MTB Championships 2018 will roll out in three stages with two days of training and a ranking round which will determine the starting order for the grand final to take place on the third and last day of the competition. In the final it will all boil down to one chance on a single descent and the rider with the best time will take home the title of French champion.

A date for the diary, Morzine 26th-28th July

Guaranteed to be a fantastic show and all the more so for the fact that a whole new run will be unveiled in the Morzine MTB network providing a spectacular and highly-visible arrival at the foot of the Pléney cable car, only a few metres from the centre of Morzine. Public access will be assured by two new lifts providing access into the network.

Thrills and spills aplenty!
