Morzine Bike Park, a unique sector dedicated to mountain biking

Presentation

Located in the heart of the Portes du Soleil , the largest MTB area in Europe, Morzine Bike Park was voted in 2020 the best bike park in Europe and the 8th  in the world by readers of Vital MTB, one of the most-read websites dedicated to MTB in the USA.
The Morzine Bike Park is a unique mountain biking area, respectful of nature and its mountain bikers. Indeed, the trails are maintained by hand, without any machine, by the local bike patrol.
Maintenance by mechanical devices is done only when it is essential for safety.

Morzine Bike Park, a bike park for everyone

During the summer of 2020, an initiation zone was designed with different modules, such as tight turns and whoops, as well as small jumps. If you want to learn mountain biking, this sector will allow you to train and improve your technique while enjoying the surrounding nature. With an area of 3800 m² and a length of 430 meters, it is accessible to everyone free of charge, at the top of the Pleney gondola.
Nearby, you will have the opportunity to test a new blue mountain bike trail, called “The Family”. Almost 4.5 km long and with a vertical drop of 500 m, it offers a gentle slope for greater ease. Tight turns were made to prevent the trail from being too steep. It is ideal for beginners!

La Piste rouge Super 8 by Romain Paulhan

Formerly called "La rouge (the Red)", the freshly named "Super 8" has found a new lease of life, thanks to a collaboration between the Morzine Bike Park teams and the Santa Cruz ambassador and former French downhill champion, Romain Paulhan.
Its name refers to the first Santa Cruz downhill mountain bike model, whose dominant colour was, as you can guess, red!
This trail offers different modules and more technical parts at the bottom of the domain, in line with the other trails of Pleney.

La Bleue d'Atray

This trail is more technical than the “Family” trail, yet it remains accessible to beginners. You can enjoy a descent into the forest and the view over Morzine.

And for the most experienced mountain bikers...

The Morzine Bike Park black slope, fitted out and maintained over the years, has kept all its technical aspect and its legendary flow. It allows you to let go, while having fun on the natural relief of the terrain.

And now you can wash your MTB at the bottom of Pleney

This year, 2 bike washing stations have been set up at the bottom of the Pleney gondola. Access is free with a valid mountain bike pass, so you can ride all day and go to the terminal before returning to your accommodation with clean equipment!
For other users, washing will be possible but not free.

Opening dates of Pleney and Morzine Bike Park

The Morzine Bike Park will be open in 2021 on Friday 11, Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 June, before opening for the season from Friday 18 June 2021 to Sunday 5 September 2021 inclusive. You will be able to ride an additional weekend on Friday 10, Saturday 11 & Sunday 12 September 2021.
To start the season, a festive “Opening” day will take place on Saturday 12 June. An “impossible climb” of the Pleney stadium will be organized once a week during the season and, on Sunday 12 September, a “Closing” day will end the season in style.
