If you decide to come by train, there are several options available to you. You can stop at Bellegarde-sur-Valserine TGV station (75 minutes from Morzine), or even closer, at Cluses or Thonon-Les-Bains train station. Both are just a 40-minute drive away from Morzine.
If you wish to drive to Morzine, you can take the A40 motorway and exit in Cluses. You will then have only a 30-minute drive to your final destination. Once in Morzine, car parks are available throughout the resort.

List of the essentials to slip into your suitcase for good summer holidays in the Alps

Are you packing your suitcase without knowing what to bring with you for your holidays in the mountains? Don't panic; we have listed the essentials for you to bring for a great mountain vacation!
‘Mountain’, in the summer, usually means hiking, so remember to take good walking/hiking shoes so that you don't have sore feet and will not risk spraining your ankle during your walks.
Do not forget to take comfortable clothes for your activities and walks in the mountains. Comfort first!
Don't forget to slip into your suitcase, either, some warm clothes, because when you go up to altitude it can sometimes be quite cool. Evenings in the resort can also be quite cool; you won't regret having a little jacket on your shoulders!
Of course, do not forget to take a cap and sunscreen to avoid sunstroke or bad sunburn!
Finally, consider putting a raincoat in a small corner of your suitcase. In case of rain, you will be happy to have one, rather than getting wet or having to carry an umbrella.

Discover mountain activities during your holidays

Organizing your summer vacation in the mountains also means planning to discover some sport-like activities that you can do with your family.
In Morzine, a wide range of activities are available: mountain biking, climbing, summer tobogganing, white-water sports, paragliding and many others.
To avoid unnecessary stress, we would advise you to book in advance the activities you want to do during your summer vacation in Morzine. We can only advise you to take the MultiPass card, which will allow you to enjoy as many as 50+ activities throughout the Portes du Soleil areas, either free of charge or at reduced rates. The card only costs €2.00 / day per person if you stay with an accommodation provider who takes part in the operation: it’s free for children under 5.
Enjoy your summer holidays in the mountains.
