Following the government announcements, the ski area is currently closed, but Morzine is a beautiful village resort that has a lot to offer as well as skiing. The village is a winter wonderland with pretty lights and decorations, and the perfect place to spend a weekend away. During spring you'll find a plethora of outdoor activities and a packed entertainment programme with different activities every day, for all ages!

Ski area
Can I go skiing?
The lifts and ski area will be closed for alpine skiing until further notice. Ski touring and cross-country skiing are both authorized as individual activities and the cross-country ski area will be groomed and open, as long as conditions allow.
The ESF jardin d'enfants is open with the carpet. For 3-5 year old beginners only. Private 1h lesson: 40€ per hour (for 1 or 2 children).

Ski touring
The remainder of the ski area will not open and therefore will not be signed and groomed, and there will not be the usual safety and rescue service. Work will be underway to prepare for the opening so these pistes are off-limits until the area is able to open.

Can people living or staying in France go skiing in Switzerland?
The French government strongly advises against skiing in Switzerland. Random controls at the border are being carried out, with quarantine or isolation being enforced on skiers returning to France.

Are any lifts open?
The Avoriaz 3S gondola is open as public transport for pedestrians. It provides access between Morzine and Avoriaz and can only be used for "normal" trips between these 2 resorts.
The Crôt slope served by the Prodains cable car is prohibited for downhill skiing and tobogganing.
The ski lift staff are entitled to refuse access to the Prodains cable car to anyone who does not comply with the above conditions.
The Prodains cable car is open everyday until the 11th April to the public with a rotation every 20 minutes :
-Monday to friday from 8am to 12am and from 1pm to 6pm.
-Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 6pm.
For the convenience of users, the toilets located at the bottom and at the top of the lift will be open while the cable car is open.
The Prodains cable car is open everyday until the 11th April to the public with a rotation every 20 minutes :
-Monday to friday from 8am to 12am and from 1pm to 6pm.
-Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 6pm.

Free shuttles are in circulation on line A to serve the cable car from Morzine (every 30 min).
However, no lifts will be open for skiers and the ski pistes will be closed.
Activites
What possibilities are there for walking and snowshoeing?
Both walking and snowshoeing are allowed, with many easy to find walks. You can get information at the Tourist Office and find the free nordic guide.
The paths next to the river, the “Dereches” and the “Chemin de Renard” will be groomed and safety will be ensured by the Town services (Mairie). These offer easy walks at village level.
Are the pool and ice rink open?
The outdoor icerink on the Tourist Office square is open: 2pm-5.30pm 7 days a week.

The swimming pool and indoor ice rink will be closed as mandated by the government.
What outdoor activities are available?
The sledging area at the base of Pleney will be open and groomed.
Parapente dual flights will be offered by the following providers:
The horse riding centre, Alpes equitation (06 32 61 41 98 - morzine-equitation.fr) will be open for pony rides and pony activities in the snow. The equestrian centre also offers a ski joëring + horse ride of 1 hour.
The carousel will be open from from 10am to 6pm.
Local heritage guides also offer tours of the village on Thursday at 10am reservation on 06 42 75 55 12 – information is available at the Tourist Office.

The local trout fish farm (06 04 59 25 26) will be open for visits on Wednesdays from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. (registrations before Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. at a price of € 2) and for the purchase of trout.
The cheesemaker, l'Alpage Morzine (04 50 79 12 39 - alpage-morzine.com), will open the production centre and ripening cellars every afternoon for visits from 3 p.m to 7 p.m (limited to 5 people at a time), but unfortunately the cheesemaking demonstration is not possible.

A permanent virtual treasure hunt is offered free of charge to discover the village and have fun with the family: go to the "Géodyssée" app and find the "Sur les trâces du yéti" and "Le trésor perdu" routes.

Piste game in Lil’Stash
Markers to stamp can be found around the cabins in the Lil’Stash.
Packs needed to play are available from the Avoriaz Tourist Office.
A Burton Lil’Stash prize is given for every card filled out.
Shopkeepers Game
The traditional Morzine shopkeepers game has been put into place for the February holidays.
The card to fill out is available in the Morzine Tourist Office and from the shops. Collect stamps and return the card for the chance to win a prize.
No purchase necessary. Winners chosen by drawing lots each Friday.

What entertainment (animation) is available?
The Entertainment Programme has been adapted to take into account the restrictions of the sanitary situation and the change in activity in Morzine. However visits and activities are on offer throughout the week.

What buses and transport are running?
The free local bus services are running, but with a service adapted to the current sanitary situation. Find details of lines running and timetable.

Are the car parks open?
All covered parking lots are chargeable. In both the Joux Plane and Office de Tourisme car parks, the first three hours is free of charge, in the Parking du Bourg the first 30 minutes is free of charge. In On-street parking is free, but overnight parking is prohibited in order not to interfere with snow removal.
Are the shops open?
Morzine has a wide range of shops that will be open.
For food, you will find lovely local producers and shops selling regional specialties as well as the supermarket. Plus, Morzine has a weekly market on Wednesday mornings with plenty of local produce.
There are also numerous boutiques as well as sports shops.
A Terroir et savoir-faire card with the different local producers is available at the reception of the Tourist Office.

While restaurants and bars cannot open to clients, many of Morzine’s restaurants are offering take away dishes.
