In addition to offering a natural environment that lends itself perfectly to some incredible mountain trail runs, Morzine has also dreamt up a comprehensive offer to get all trail runners on their marks and finding their feet!
There's more than 12 different areas and 44 routes with over 470km of signed trails.
25 lifts operate to take walkers and runners to 41 rando-trails.17 of these circuits have 3km of vertical and the possibility to use lifts.
You'll find 14 green routes, 17 blue routes, 12 red routes and 1 black route.

Enduro Trail: Get further into the mountains using the lift system
With departure points from the very centre of the village, Morzine offers routes which also use connections on the lifts to skip the steepest inclines and get you straight up to the ridge crests and their 360 degree panoramic views. Here are our favourite panoramic trail running routes :
Enduro Trail of the Crests of Super Morzine (14km with 280m altitude gain)
From the centre of the resort, jump on the Super Morzine bubble and then the Zore chairlift. A magnificent trail along the ridge crest awaits you with breath-taking views of the Dents du Midi. The trail continues towards Avoriaz before descending gently back to your start point.
Enduro Trail of Avoriaz – Morzinette (9km with 275m altitude gain)
Hop on a shuttle bus to take you to Prodains then grab the cable car to Avoriaz. After a short uphill section, the mostly downhill trail snakes first of all through pastures with an exceptional view of the culmination point of the Portes du Soleil before descending Morzinette through a pretty wooded stage and bringing you back to the Church Square.
Glorious landscapes and a wide variety of terrain
Having exhausted the paths and forestry tracks through woods and pastures and over mountain peaks, if you want to take it further still you can try conquering the Portes du Soleil, a circuit of 400km of paths and 54 marked trails straddling France and Switzerland. And to make the trail runner’s life that bit easier there’s a dedicated mobile app called « Trail Running Portes du Soleil » with geolocation of the runner on the trails, export of the route to GPS, route profiles, comments from other runners etc. It is free and available from the Appstore and Google Play.
