16th of march 2020 5.30pm, 

Infos following the announcement of the Prime Minister : 

- As of Tuesday 17th March in order to obey the rules imposed by the authorities, access to the Morzine-Avoriaz Tourist Office will be closed. We remain contactable by email and telephone on the following times 9am to midday and 2pm to 6pm.

- Supermarkets, pharmacies, bakers, petrol stations and tabacs will be open.

- The market is suspended until further notice

- Transportatoin within Morzine:
Lines A, U, D, P, C and E are closed,
An internal  line is maintained until Wednesday, the 18th of march included to allow the proper organization of departures for tourists, residents or seasonal workers.

- All the facilities of the Parc des Dérêches are closed including : 
The outdoor ice-skating rinks in Morzine and Avoriaz
The aquatic center
The Palais des Sports, the indoor ice rink and all the rooms
Sports facilities (tennis court)
This equipment is prohibited for clubs, associations or any other user whatsoever.


15th of march 2020

Following the announcement by the Prime Minister last night, Morzine is now closed for the rest of the winter season. Here is the information we can give you at this time :

• Only businesses deemed essential by the government can stay open : supermarkets, bakers, pharmacies and tabacs.

• The Pleney gondola will run as needed for businesses, but will not take skiers.
• The Prodains 3S is running in order to transport people staying in Avoriaz, but not for skiers.

• Buses are running as normal for today.

• Hotels are able to stay open and feed their clients until they are able to leave.
• However, restaurants and hotels cannot open to any other clients.

• For information on any passes bought or reservations made via Morzine Reservation, Maya will be available until midday.

• Sports shops are able to open today in order to take back hire material, but will be closed as of tomorrow.

• The Tourist Office is open today, but limited to 5 clients maximum at a time.

• The office for ESF Morzine will be open today for refunds, with limited numbers entering at the same time.

Information concerning the PORTES du SOLEIL ski area : As The Confédération Helvétique has decided to close all ski resorts on its territory, the Swiss resorts in the Portes du Soleil are now closed. Following this Portes du Soleil ski passes now have a 15% reduction. The French resorts are open normally : Morzine – Avoriaz, les Gets, Chatel, Saint Jean D’Aulps, la Chapelle d’Abondance and Abondance. Links between resorts are open. There is no change to the rates of sectorial passes in France.



13th of March 2020

Following the statement made by Macron last night and the recent closures in Austria, we would like to assure everyone that Morzine, and the neighbouring resorts in the Portes du Soleil remain open at the moment. The situation is rapidly evolving and we will have to follow any decisions made by the prefecture. We advise everyone to follow the government advice in order to limit risks and check the current advice at the time of travelling. As of today :
- the lift system is open with no adverse affects
- the ski schools are open, including the Piou -Piou for young children. (Group of less than 10 children maintained outdoor for skiing)
- Restaurants, bars, shops, hotels are open without any changes to usual procedures
- an update on events will be coming later

9th of March 2020

At the time of writing, we have had no confirmed cases of Covid-19 (coronavirus) in Morzine. Whilst the Prefet de la Haute Savoie have already cancelled several large events across the region, skiing and village life remain unaffected. The ski lifts are open, as is the full village, all shops, bars and restaurants. At the moment the general activities in Morzine remaine unchanged. The situation is evolving and we will have to follow any decisions made by the prefecture if/when necessary. We advise everyone to follow the government advice in order to limit risks and check the current advice at the time of travelling.
