Ski touring

Ski touring to access pristine natural areas

Ski touring has become increasingly popular amongst experienced skiers. Skiing on groomed slopes is good, but more and more skiers want more and want to venture into other parts of the ski area. To taste the joys of a descent in powder snow is priceless, although it requires the right skills and technique. The first price to pay is the effort to ski up with your “skins” before the supreme reward, the descent on an immaculate white ground!
Ski touring is a complete sport that requires both endurance and technique. It allows you to discover and enjoy large natural spaces inaccessible for the majority by the ski lifts. Away from the crowd, you will undoubtedly experience indescribable sensations of freedom!
During the ascent, focus on your heart rate, so as not to burn your energy too quickly, then improve your technique as you go and, above all, don't forget to admire the surrounding landscape! It would be a shame not to enjoy the view! On the descent, you can enjoy the joys of skiing. It will be well deserved after your great effort on the way up.

Ski touring in unmarked areas

The practice of ski touring is free. But be careful to respect all the safety instructions. Unmarked means unsecured!
Ski touring can be dangerous, which is why it is essential to have equipment suitable for the practice of this sport, as well as the necessary safety equipment (avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe in particular).
Before each departure in the mountains, it is recommended to tell at least one person close to you about the location and duration of your outing.
Do not hesitate to call on a guide or a qualified instructor for ski touring sessions in unmarked and secure areas. Mountain professionals know the dangerous places and those where you can practice ski touring safely. In addition, they will be able to share with you their knowledge of the flora and fauna, letting you discover the surrounding mountains and, above all, take you to the best places for maximum pleasure. The most beautiful landscapes and the most beautiful views of the Portes du Soleil are yours!
