The 06 April 2025
MorzineAn iconic ski race in Morzine brings together over 600 children from ski clubs and schools. This race is one of the few that allows non-licensed children to participate.
What Is It?
It’s a major end-of-season race that brings together over 700 children aged 8 to 16 on the Morzine ski area. The morning race is followed in the afternoon by a grand parade through the streets of the resort, where the children march under the banner of their ski clubs or schools, culminating in a lively awards ceremony at the Morzine Tourist Office square. The Champions’ Race includes children from ski clubs, school students, and holidaymakers!
Partners SALOMON and UVEX, along with local Morzine businesses, initiated this race nearly 40 years ago and promise fantastic prizes for the podium winners, as well as random draws (including SALOMON skis, UVEX helmets and goggles, etc.). Every child thus has a chance to win something!
Why Participate?
Simply to experience what it feels like to be a champion! Non-licensed participants don’t always have the opportunity to compete in major races, but the Champions’ Race provides that chance. To reach the podium, rankings for “ski clubs” and “non-ski clubs” are established, meaning you don’t need a license to aspire to podium placement!
The program includes a giant slalom on the Nyon Plateau, autograph sessions with the champions from the Portes du Soleil, tips from the pros, opening of the race tracks, and trophy presentations on the podium…
The children will also be treated like true little champions with:
- Free lift pass for the race
- Free entry to the swimming pool
- Ski maintenance at partner shops in the resort, all at preferential rates, just like the big champions!
Additional activities will be offered alongside the race to enhance the morning, including a ski test where several brands will participate.
The Little BONUS
Starting at 4:00 PM, the children will parade alongside our Paralympic vice-champion, Anthony Chalençon, who will then present the trophies to the children.
These moments will be unforgettable for these young budding skiers!
Access to the Tracks:
- Small Course / Categories U8 & U10: Access via the Raverettes chairlift.
- Medium Course / Category U12: Access via the Raverettes chairlift or the Troncs chairlift.
- Large Course / Categories U14 & U16: Access via the Troncs chairlift.
Registration: Children registered in ski clubs can sign up directly with their club. For non-licensed children, registration will take place at the Morzine Tourist Office.
