Mobility and transport

- Having pedestrianized part of the center of Morzine since 2022, the Morzine-Avoriaz local government continues to work on active mobility.
- A system of free shuttles operates during the summer and winter to encourage tourists and locals alike to leave the car in the garage! (Recent improvements include: optimization of routes, implementation of a shuttle geolocation information system, etc.).
- A new bike path in the center of Morzine opened for summer 2023. There are plans to expand and improve bike paths in the future.
- New parking facilities for the growing number of bikes in Morzine.
- New recharging point for electric bikes in the Tourist Office square and at the top of Le Pleney.
- Morzine has been awarded the "Accueil Vélo" and "Ville à vélo" status, thanks to our many bike-friendly services (itineraries, maintenance, facilities, etc.).
- Use of electric vehicles within the technical services (small vehicle, electric car, etc.).
- Installation of 2 new electric car charging stations (one at the tourist office and the other at the Palais des Sports).
- Participation in the Savoir rouler à vélo (SRAV ) program. This program enables children to learn the skills they need to become truly independent cyclists. In 2023, 127 children were trained.

Getting to Morzine :  The biggest impact of a holiday comes from travel to resort, this is an estimated 50-70% of emissions of the average ski holiday. Morzine’s leaders and local businesses have been looking at ways to encourage more visitors to adopt lower carbon options for getting to Morzine.
o Go-Morzine-Avoriaz: Morzine-Avoriaz invested in a travel planner proposes the least carbon-intensive route to the destination. 
o AlpinExpress Pass: travelers arriving by train benefit from discounts at several businesses in the resort, via this pass organized by the local association Montagne Verte (accommodation, rentals, ski passes, etc.).
