The Eagles of Léman in Morzine’s mountains: The launch of the winter park!

The Morzine Ski area and the Morzine-Avoriaz Tourist Office have a new unique offering, at the pointe de Nyon (2 019 meters altitude), in the heart of the Morzine-Les Gets ski slopes in the huge Portes du Soleil ski area.
On the site of the existing restaurant, the park « les Aigles du Léman » (based in Sciez) will now offer it’s summer activities, throughout the winter in the mountains, in the fabulous natural area of the pointe de Nyon :

The new concept, the only of its kind in the world is called:
Les Aigles du Léman – Winter Park- Morzine
With a wealth of experience in the domaine of informative tourism and shows, the team from the animal park will offer a range of activities and displays, adjusted and adapted for the winter terrain, throughout the main winter season (21st December 2019 to 22nd March 2020). The entertainment, games and shows will take place in a huge Savoyard chalet, inside or on the terrace, or even on the ski slopes, where for the first time ever, it will be possible to ski with eagles…
- With classic mountain dishes on offer: 2 different shows over your lunch with the birds in free flight, twice a day – inside or on the terrace, depending on the weather – for two lunchtime sittings. A unique new show on the theme of folklore & alpine traditions called: « Jeannot hunts the Dahu », (a new creation for this winter park), and an educational show « Discovering the birds of prey of our mountains », will offer diners a unique experience over their lunch.
- A sledge run safely seperated from the ski pistes is in front of the chalet, so that everyone can enjoy the mountains and the snow.
- Inside there is a playroom, for when the temperatures drop.
- On the snow, eagle flying displays, for the public
- An educational path with signs inviting skiers to learn more about the alpine birds of prey.
- Splendid birds in aviaries in harmony with the environment.
- In the morning and by prior arangement, courses in falconry (falconry on skis).
- A snack on the piste: Take a break whether you’re on skis or on foot, to have a drink and watch eagles fly from your deckchair.
- A souvenir shop and picnic room complete the park’s offer.
All the activities (except the courses and the lunch time shows) are free of charge. Lunch shows are included in the lunch menu.
Access is by the ski pistes from Pleney or from the Nyon gondola (lift passes available for skiers and return passes for walkers*). Nyon has a free bus service from the centre of Morzine and a free car park.
Les Aigles du Léman – Winter Park – Morzine, allows you to observe exceptional birds in a fantastic alpine setting, to understand the way of life of these species, in an entertaining manner.
Attending these rare deomonstrations, observing these majestic birds fly so close up, it’s undoubtably an incredible opportunity to understand what’s at stake for the future in terms of the preservation of nature.
The Morzine ski area and the Tourist Office are side by side with the Aigles du Léman in working towards favouring biodiversity.
