Le Vieux Pont

A wooden bridge spanned the Dranse, providing the only main passage between the two banks.
Regularly washed away by river floods, it was decided in the 1720s to build a solid stone bridge. During construction, another flood washed out the work in 1725. The bridge was finally operational in 1729.
