hiking
Walking is a revitalising activity when you are in the pure mountain air. In Morzine, there are plenty of walks and hikes suited to all levels of ability.
Dérêches park
If you’re a beginner, we recommend starting with easy walks along footpaths that are fairly flat. From the centre of the village, there is a 4.5 km loop trail through Dérêches Park alongside the river Dranse. This is a haven of greenery right in the centre of the village. Along the way, you can stop off at the children’s playground or the horse riding centre. The children will most certainly want to stroke the horses and ponies there.
Dérêches Park
The Chemin du Renard (fox trail)
Why not go for a walk along the fox trail which is again on the banks of the river Dranse, but this time you’ll be walking towards Nyon. This is a nature walk that departs from the centre of the village and then runs alongside the river Dranse via the old footpath up to the Nyon pastures.
If you want to venture further away from the village, you can head towards the ridges of Le Pléney and Super Morzine. On these walks, you’ll be following marked footpaths with great sun exposure and some stunning views across the valley and surrounding peaks.
For Hikers
For longer hikes, don’t hesitate to download the hiking guide. This guide provides details of a range of hikes departing from Morzine, Avoriaz and Les Gets. It features thirty or so routes that are indicated on the map.

Mountain Biking
Morzine, the perfect MTB playground at the heart of the Alps
The Morzine-Les Gets and Portes du Soleil MTB areas are renowned as being favourite sports for mountain bikers from all over the world. The tracks are varied and technical, making them very popular with both amateur and professional mountain bikers. We can see why this is the chosen training ground for the Santa Cruz Syndicate team. Their riders Luca Shaw and Loris Vergier often come to train at Morzine Bike Park.
In 2022, Morzine was voted Best Bike Park in Europe and 8th in the world by the readers of Vital MTB, and this is thanks to the resort’s partnership with Santa Cruz.
