Hike for families at Pointe de Nyon

Practical information
Maximum altitude: 2,019 meters
Cumulative elevation: 593 meters
Duration of the hike: 1h 15min
Difficulty level: easy

This walk is very easy to access: you can go directly by car from the centre of Morzine or use the N free shuttle to go to the Nyon car park and then take the cable car. Once at the top, take the “Pointe de Nyon” chairlift and enjoy the view during the ascent. You will only have to climb a few more metres to get to the summit and admire a breathtaking 360° panorama of the surrounding peaks of Chablais, as well as Mont-Blanc. You can then reach the Lake Nyon-Guérin by taking a small downhill path. Once there, take the opportunity to refill at the “Refuge de Nyon” restaurant, just by the lake. If you have time and feel like it, you can even try fishing. For the descent, all you have to do is follow the ski slope down and take the cable car again to reach your car or the bus stop at the Nyon car park.

This hike is accessible from the centre of the village of Morzine. All you have to do is to take the Super-Morzine gondola, then the Zore chairlift. Once at the top, you can start your walk along the ridges. Here, you will find an easy hike with beautiful landscapes. You will enjoy a beautiful view of the Pléney, Avoriaz and surrounding mountains. You can follow the marked trail, which is easy to access even with children, and enjoy your family hike all the way to Avoriaz. During your walk towards Avoriaz, you can take a small path on your left, to admire Lake Montriond from the “Belvédère du lac”. Just be careful if you are following it with children.
During your walk, you may have the chance to see chamois and black grouse on the slope opposite to you, so keep your eyes wide open! Once the loop is finished, all you have to do is go back down to Morzine by the Super-Morzine gondola.

Hiking for the most experienced in Ressachaux

Practical information
Maximum altitude: 2,173 meters
Cumulative elevation: 1,200 meters
Duration of the hike: 3h30
Difficulty level: difficult

“Pointe de Ressachaux” is one of the 3 mountains which dominate Morzine. From the top of its 2,173 metres, the view over the village of Morzine is breathtaking! The ascent from the Putheys, “straight up the slope”, offers a fairly steep start to the route in the forest. You will then arrive at a mountain pasture halfway through Ressachaux. This is the ideal spot for a snack break, with its water fountain fed by the “crève-cœur” spring a little higher up. Once at the cross which marks the summit, you can see all the surrounding summits, as well as Avoriaz.

Difficult hike to Pointe d'Angolon

Maximum altitude: 2,090 meters
Cumulative elevation: 450 meters
