Paragliding initiation course
Three days course
Five days course
Over the course of the week, you'll learn the basics of flying (practical and theoretical) using the latest, most appropriate equipment.
At your own pace, you’ll progress from the school slope to the big flight, supervised by two state-certified instructors.
Initiation begins with the acquisition of basic ground handling skills, thanks to adapted and controlled practical exercises, to which theoretical knowledge is gradually added.
The first steps
The course runs from Monday to Friday (5 half-days), mornings only, as aerological conditions are ideal for learning.
The first 2 or 3 days are spent on the “school slope”, where, as the name suggests, you gradually learn the basic movements required to prepare your wing, inflate it, bring it up over your head, then trot it along before gently setting it down on the ground to stop, all without taking off. Patience… It’ll happen.
As you try it out, you’ll make a few “chip jumps”, i.e. mini-flights taking off from a few meters to a few dozen meters. As you’ll see, this is enough to give you your first real taste of the thrill of flying.
The “school slope” is the most physical part of the learning process, with numerous trips to the field necessary to understand and automate the sequence of movements required to inflate, take off, fly and land smoothly and safely.
The big flight
That’s right! As you can imagine, the day you make your first big flight alone under your wing is a very emotional day. These first big flights, as we call them, also take place on the Super-Morzine site, with a 600 m difference in altitude, and an instructor to guide you during take-off and landing. And to make the most of these unforgettable moments, you’ll leave the planet with a radio on your shoulder on the heart side, and guided throughout the flight by gentle voices. Alone under your wing and in the air, but not lost! We envy you this first great flight, which only happens once, ours having been consumed long ago. The aim of this course is essentially to bring you to this first big flight. We can’t guarantee the number of flights, as we’re dependent on the weather! You can therefore make from 1 to X big flights during this course.
Cycle 1 of the FFVL progression, white, yellow, orange level.
