Family friendly hikes at the Pointe de Nyon

This walk is very easy to reach. You can drive straight from the centre of Morzine or use the free shuttle bus N to get to Nyon car park and then take the cable car. Once you arrive at the top, take the Pointe de Nyon chairlift and enjoy the views on the ride up. You’ll need to climb just a few more metres to get to the peak and admire a breathtaking 360° view of the surrounding Chablais peaks and Mont-Blanc. You can then get to Nyon Guérin lake down a small path. Take this opportunity to relax and unwind at the Nyon Refuge and do some fishing. For the way down, just follow the ski slope and then use the cable car to get back to your car or to the bus stop at Nyon car park.
Sunny hike up over the Super Morzine ridges

Can be reached from the centre of Morzine village, take the Super-Morzine gondola lift and then Zore chairlift. Once you get to the top, you can start your walk along the ridges. This is an easy hike with some stunning views of Le Pleney, Avoriaz and the surrounding mountains. This marked-out and easy-to-reach trail is even suitable for children so you can enjoy a family hike to Avoriaz. You can choose to take a detour to Montriond lake from the lake viewpoint. This is an exposed passage so be careful if you’re hiking with children.
Keep your eyes peeled because you might be lucky enough to see chamois and black grouse on the mountainside opposite you! Once you’ve finished the loop trail, you can head back down using the Super-Morzine gondola lift.
Easy hike suitable for children over the Le Pleney ridges

This route is easy to reach via the Le Pleney gondola lift. Once you arrive at the top, this is a very easy walk that is perfectly suitable for children. You’ll be walking along a wide, marked-out path along the ridges towards the orientation table overlooking the Pointe de Nyon and surrounding mountains. Carry on your way and you’ll come to the golf course and mountain restaurants where you can stop off for some refreshments and relax in the sun.
Trail for the most experienced hikers in Ressachaux

The Pointe de Ressachaux is one of the 3 mountains that overlooks Morzine. Standing at an elevation of 2,173 metres, the view of the village of Morzine down below is staggering! This trail begins with a steep and straight climb up through the forest from Les Putheys. Halfway to Ressachaux, you’ll come to a pasture which is the ideal place to stop for a snack and there’s a water fountain there, supplied by the ‘crève-coeur’ spring a bit further up. When you get to the cross that marks the summit, you’ll be able to see all the surrounding peaks, as well as Avoriaz.
Difficult hike to the Pointe d’Angolon

This trail is suitable for experienced walkers looking to hike along a fairly exposed route. There’s a section with a cable to hold onto but it’s not too challenging. This trail along the mountainside provides 360° views of Morzine, the Fiz and Aravis mountains, Mont-Blanc and the Dents du Midi. You’ll also be able to catch a glimpse of part of Lake Geneva. The hike to the Pointe d’Angolon is really worth the detour if you’re looking to venture off the beaten track.
