PASS’PORTES DU SOLEIL
The Pass’Portes du Soleil MTB is a mountain biking itinerary across altitudes ranging between 1,000 and 2,450 metres, to explore the stunning Portes du Soleil MTB area and the spectacular scenery there.
The route includes the use of between 13 and 15 of the area’s lifts. For more experienced mountain bikers, there are some alternative uphill sections and downhill sections on the more technical tracks. The ride is to be covered in one day. Participants can choose to ride on the Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

The entire loop trail is approximately 80 km long and is largely downhill, with around 6,000 metres’ elevation loss and a 1,000-metre elevation gain. The Pass’Portes du Soleil MTB route is also suitable for electric mountain bikes.
Prices for each route are as follows:

  • Pass’Portes Kids: €25 (+€3 handling fee), including accompaniment by French cycling instructors, in addition to the above. Excursion from Les Gets, Châtel or Morzine, only on Saturday 25 June or Sunday 26 June 2022. Full details on the Kids page.
  • Night Ride by Hope: €15 (+€1 handling fee)
  • Pass’Portes Pedestrians: €15 (+€1 handling fee)

Optional extras that can be added to the rider pack on registration:

  • Cancellation cover: The organisation proposes cancellation insurance at €3 per registration. – See terms of cover in the Pass’Portes du Soleil MTB rules.
  • Slicy mudguard: Price €10 with a specific enduro/DH design

Just as well, because Morzine and the Portes du Soleil MTB area are among the best MTB destinations in Europe and deemed by the vast majority of enthusiasts to be the mountain biking Mecca. It’s true that in Morzine-Avoriaz you’ll find all the right conditions for MTB.
The Portes du Soleil MTB area is one of the biggest MTB parks in Europe with an endless variety of terrain, tracks and trails for downhill, freeride and cross-country biking, something for everyone and all levels of ability. The Portes du Soleil MTB trails are colour-coded just like the ski slopes. The green tracks are ideal for families and beginners as they are usually not very difficult, well maintained and the slopes are not too steep. The perfect terrain for novices!
For experienced mountain bikers who would like to take on the very best MTB tracks in the French Alps, we recommend the blue, red or even black trails. You can therefore set off along steep and technical downhill tracks that require excellent control, self-confidence and exemplary technical skills.
