This part of the town was in the past known as “Le Village des Moulins” - the mills village. A canal used to run alongside it and supported 6 successive wheels.
The wheels required great amounts of care to make the most of the constantly changing water levels (caused by seasons, storms and general flow).
Nowadays dismantled, the watermill located behind the saw mill used to produce enough energy for the saw mill’s operation. Several different types of mills used to operate in the area: flour, oil, trip hammer, beater mills, etc…
