Breathe in the fresh Alpine air as you run through breathtaking scenery, swim in crystal-clear lakes near Morzine and get on your bike to test your limits over world-famous mountain passes. With routes offering breathtaking views of magnificent mountains, you’ll feel on top of the world as you train for your next triathlon race.
While your swim training can take place in the Morzine resort’s outdoor Olympic pool, you can also swim in the pristine waters of Lac Montriond (please note that swimming is unsupervised). And when it comes to cycling, you’re spoilt for choice with some of the best road bike routes in the world.
What equipment is needed for this type of activity ?
Here’s a short list of the equipment you’ll be provided with: a raft fitted with footstraps to support the paddler and a lifeline to hold on to in the event of a fall into the water; a paddle; a lifejacket; a helmet that must be specific to rafting and protect the ears; a wetsuit that will be thicker or thinner depending on the period of activity; and rafting shoes.
Like all mountain activities, rafting is not dangerous if you pay close attention to your instructor’s instructions. You should know that the instructor has a state diploma, is trained to intervene if necessary and knows the river by heart.
Rafting is accessible as soon as you can swim and are comfortable in the water. However, on technical rivers, a minimum age is often required.
