Do you like water?
Thrill-seekers?
Or just want to relax and splash around?
Morzine has just what you need!
The Alps are renowned for their white-water activities, promising pure fun for all ages. Come and enjoy a fun-filled half-day with your group to discover the Haute-Savoie with your feet and maybe your head in the water. It’s the perfect opportunity to spend an unforgettable, fun-filled day.
Come and try your hand at canyoning down our beautiful Nyon waterfall in Morzine. It’s an activity you can enjoy with family or friends.
The thrills of abseiling down the gorge, sliding down the natural slides formed by the tumultuous waters or jumping from the top of the rocks are guaranteed in the heart of nature. The activity takes place in the midst of a natural environment and magnificent landscapes that are unique to our beautiful region. Often compared to the Ardèche or the Verdon, you’ll be won over by the wild, rocky, cool mountain setting.
It’s an ideal summer activity between two hikes in hot weather, with a great dose of adrenalin and thrills!
What equipment is needed for this type of activity ?
Here’s a short list of the equipment you’ll be provided with: a raft fitted with footstraps to support the paddler and a lifeline to hold on to in the event of a fall into the water; a paddle; a lifejacket; a helmet that must be specific to rafting and protect the ears; a wetsuit that will be thicker or thinner depending on the period of activity; and rafting shoes.
Like all mountain activities, rafting is not dangerous if you pay close attention to your instructor’s instructions. You should know that the instructor has a state diploma, is trained to intervene if necessary and knows the river by heart.
Rafting is accessible as soon as you can swim and are comfortable in the water. However, on technical rivers, a minimum age is often required.
A not-to-be-missed experience for anyone staying in Morzine this summer! Want to try something different? Our Morzine residents offer you the chance to experience canyoning with your family or friends.
After this expedition, if you need to cool off for longer, you’ll find the lakes around Morzine or our swimming pool next to the Palais des Sports in Morzine. Take a look at our Summer Activities pages to help you plan your stay.
