Is canyoning dangerous?
There’s no need to worry, this activity has been suitable for everyone for over 10 years now in Morzine. You don’t need any specific climbing skills. A canyoning guide will give you a detailed briefing before your group sets off. They will then supervise the whole outing and give participants instructions along the way. You’ll learn all about rope techniques, abseiling, natural slides on the rock and jumps from varying height that you can choose to do or not.
How should you be dressed for canyoning? Which shoes should you wear?
The most appropriate footwear for this sort of activity is either aqua shoes or an old pair of trainers with a sturdy sole because you’ll be walking on the rocks. Make sure you bring a swimsuit, most activity providers will provide you with a wetsuit. You’ll also be provided with a helmet and a harness to be able to abseil in complete safety.
The guide will ask you to come and meet them at the foot of the canyon, and will then take you to the departure point. The outing ends at the initial meeting point.
