More than 12 departure points with 44 marked-out trails covering over 470 km

Morzine has 27 lifts for pedestrians to use and 44 hiking/trail running routes in the Portes du Soleil, so there are so many possibilities for those looking to explore the mountains on foot. To suit all levels of difficulty, there are 14 green trails, 15 blue trails, 11 red trails, 1 black trail and 3 vertical kilometres, offering something for all sorts of explorers, from beginners to the most experienced.

Enduro Trail along the ridges of Super Morzine (14 km and 280 m elevation gain).
From the centre of the resort, take the Super Morzine gondola lift, and then the Zore chairlift. A superb route along the ridges overlooking the Dents du Midi awaits you. The route then continues towards Avoriaz and then a gentle downward slope takes you back to your departure point.

Enduro Trail Avoriaz – Morzinette (9 km and 275 m elevation gain)
Use the shuttle service to get to Prodains, and then the cable car will take you directly to Avoriaz. First of all, this route winds down across the Alpine pastures, offering superb views across the whole valley. Then it continues to Morzinette, a heavenly little place with old chalets, before reaching a pleasant section through the forest and then ending at the church square.

Spectacular scenery and diverse terrain
After the narrow tracks and forest tracks, crossing through forests, across meadows and peaks, you can carry on exploring the Portes du Soleil if you’d like to go further. You have access to 54 marked-out trails covering 400 km between France and Switzerland. To make life easier for trail runners, there’s a special mobile app called ‘Trail Running Portes du Soleil’ with GPS location of the runner on the route, possibility to export the GPS route outline, loop trail terrain, comments from other runners, etc.  It is free and available to download from App Store and Google Play.
