DID YOU KNOW ?

Nature and wildlife are among Morzine’s main preoccupations. In September 2021, the resort was awarded the ‘Flocon Vert’ seal of approval for its eco-friendly initiatives. The local council and the Tourist Offices of Morzine-Avoriaz and Avoriaz 1800 have joined forces to strive towards a more responsible, greener tourism, through initiatives that unite!

For example, to protect birds, all lift cables have been fitted with visual markers at approximately 5-metre intervals, to avoid birds flying into them. Also, there are 2 protected zones for the black grouse, an iconic Alpine species.
In addition, through a cooperation with the ONF (national forestry office), a record is kept of every tree-felling operation carried out across the ski area, and those areas of the Chablais region where it is deemed necessary are planted with new trees of local varieties, such as spruce, fir and larch.

A poster campaign and efforts to raise awareness on good environmental practices have also been implemented.
