Whether it’s to capture those fabulous memories, feed your Instagram account, send pics to your family or friends, or just for your own pleasure, snapping beautiful shots is an important part of any holiday!
To help you take the best possible photos of your holiday in Morzine, here’s our Top 4 of the must-see spots:
1- Le Pas de l’aigle
This has to be Morzine’s ultimate photo spot. Built in 2020 at the top of the Pointe de Nyon, the Pas de l’Aigle is a walkway that offers stunning views of the snow-covered peaks. Les Hauts Forts, Le Fornet, Les Dents du midi, La Tour Sallière, Les Dents Blanches… all within a camera’s reach! Will you be able to recognise them?
In addition to the outstanding panoramic view, just getting to the site is an experience in itself and walking along the platform feels almost like floating above the void! (If you’re scared of heights, take our advice and don’t look down!)
To reach the site, take the Pointe de Nyon chairlift, then climb the steps at the top!
2- Montriond lake
This lake is very popular on Instagram!
In both winter and summer, tourists and local residents come to appreciate Montriond Lake in all its splendour. Follow the snowshoe trail around the lake to admire it from every angle and take the best photos.
A few tips for some original shots:
– experiment with the mirror image of the mountains and trees reflected in the lake
– if you have ‘panorama’ mode on your smartphone, try taking a vertical photo, from bottom to top, to add depth and scale to your shot!
Finish by splashing about at the Montriond Lake bathing area, the perfect way to cool off after your walk.
3- At the top of the Chamossière chairlift
f you take the Chamossière chairlift during your day on the slopes, stop at the top for a moment to admire the view (weather permitting, of course). The panorama of the mountain range is superb, which makes this the ideal spot to remove your gloves, take out your smartphone and snap a few shots!
4- Mines d’Or Lake
Every lake has its own special charm, so here’s another one!
The Mines d’Or Lake is a picturesque spot that’s well worth a visit, set high in the Manche Valley! Whatever the season, it can be reached on foot from the Erigné site. Observe the biodiversity of this unspoilt nature spot and admire the spectacular ‘onion peel’ rock formation of the beautiful ‘Rouleau de Bostan’.
