Do you want to get some fresh air, take the kids for a walk (without them complaining after 10 minutes) or simply share a cool moment in the mountains? This summer, Morzine is opening the doors to its most beautiful trails, suitable for all levels, from the easiest to the sportiest.

1. Around Lac de Montriond: easy and accessible

1. Around Lac de Montriond: easy and accessible

A classic, but as effective as ever. Lac de Montriond is the perfect place for a gentle stroll, with shade, turquoise water and plenty of space for a picnic or to let the kids run around.

  • Distance: 3.5 km
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Level: very easy (even with pushchair)

Perfect for starting the week or stretching your legs without too much effort.

2. The ridges of Super-Morzine: panoramic views guaranteed

Departing from the Super-Morzine cable car, the walk follows a ridge with magnificent views of the mountains, forests… and Lac de Montriond below.

  • Distance: 10.8 km
  • Duration: 2h30
  • Level: easy

Do it in fine weather to enjoy the 360° view.

3. The Fréterolle to Chardonnière mountain pasture tour: a natural ambience

A trail that has it all: pretty chalets, cows, mountain flowers and often… a few marmots. An ideal loop for children, with no major difficulties, but with that little ‘alpine’ touch that changes everything.

  • Distance: 5.4 km
  • Running time: 1 hour 45 minutes
  • Level: easy

We recommend having a snack at the summit, or even better: a picnic!

4. Lac Vert via Les Mossettes: a little higher, a little further

This is a new departure. This hike starts at altitude, near Avoriaz, and leads up to Lac Vert, a little perched jewel. It’s longer and takes a bit of practice, but nothing insurmountable if you’ve got good shoes… and a bit of stamina.

  • Distance: 6.8 km
  • Duration: 3h30
  • Level: intermediate

Access via the lifts makes the adventure a little more fun for the youngsters.

5. Col de Cou from the Lac des Mines d’Or: for sporty families

Looking for a real mountain hike, with a picture-postcard panorama at the end? Then head for the Col de Cou, starting from the Mines d’Or lake. You follow the Swiss border, climb gradually and finish with a magical view of the peaks. Clearly reserved for families who like walking… and a bit of climbing.

  • Distance: 7.8 km
  • Running time: 4h15
  • Level: intermediate to advanced

Bring water, cereal bars and a camera.
