To help you organise your stay, here are a few suggestions of activities to fill your days in Morzine. Discover the village resort in all its facets!
Morzine on the slopes
To get the day off to a great start and make the most of the freshly fallen snow, go exploring the multiple slopes of the Morzine ski area. Obviously, the first thing you’ll need is your ski gear and lift pass.
There are plenty of sports shops in the village where you can rent equipment (skis, poles, snowboard, ski boots, helmet, etc.). To give you a clear idea and take the stress out of your arrival, here’s a list that you might find helpful.
For lift passes, you have various options:
The Morzine-Les Gets pass or the Portes du Soleil pass, which gives you access to all 12 resorts in both the French and Swiss parts of the ski area. Various durations: 5 hours, 1 day, 2 days, and so on.
If you’d like to purchase lift passes online, ahead of your arrival, Click here!
Once that’s sorted, you can take straight to the slopes to enjoy yourself, with caution of course!
If you stay in the Morzine-Les Gets sector, head for the Nyon plateau where you can race against a falcon or try other unusual activities, then go up to Le Pas de l’Aigle, to finish in style!
A hearty meal in the mountains
After all that exercise, hurtling down the slopes, you should be getting hungry… So go to Chez Nannon to replenish your energy with a delicious local dish! This restaurant occupying an old mountain chalet serves traditional meals such as the famous ‘patate au reblochon’ (potato with reblochon cheese). The whole family will love the authentic setting and the beautiful view from the terrace! Don’t forget the suncream if it’s a sunny day!
Activities and discoveries
To vary the pleasure, have a change from skiing and spend the afternoon trying another activity.
You can go snowshoeing, for example, to enjoy the amazing views waiting to be discovered along the multiple trails. Try this experience, alone or with a guide, for an alternative way of exploring the mountains. Progressing at your own pace, you’ll take the time to observe the surrounding wildlife and vegetation, breathe the fresh mountain air and… enjoy!
Snowshoeing, ski touring, horseriding, ice skating… You’ll be spoilt for choice! Check out the full list of activities available in Morzine.
Evening out in the village
To round off your day in style, walk into the village at nightfall to see Morzine in a different light. Strolling through the lit-up village streets, you may well spot a nice place to eat…
We recommend La Chaudanne, a lovely restaurant for your après-ski session, be it for a drink before or after dinner, a wine and tapas evening, or to enjoy a good meal! At La Chaudanne, the menu features a wide variety of starters and mains that follow the seasons.
Back in the warm
After a day like that, you’re probably getting tired. Time to go back and snuggle up in bed for a good night’s sleep… Which means you need the right accommodation, suitable for you and your partner, family or group of friends. Whatever the size of your group, there’s no shortage of solutions!
