These champions are the sports ambassadors of Morzine and they showcase the resort thanks to their impressive sporting achievements. They were all either born in Morzine or train there regularly, and the resort is fiercely proud of them, just like their famous predecessor, Jean Vuarnet!
MORZINE AVORIAZ IS A LAND OF CHAMPIONS"
They all seem to have followed in the footsteps of Jean Vuarnet, the inventor of the so-called ‘tuck’ skiing position. In 1960, an extraordinary event turned the lives of the village and its residents upside down. Jean-Jean (that’s what the locals of Morzine called him), a native of Morzine, had just been crowned Olympic downhill skiing champion in Squaw Valley. We hope that all our champions who are currently making Morzine so proud experience the same resounding success!
