Here, heritage is alive and well. You can smell it, taste it and talk about it. So if you really want to discover Morzine, take the time to stop, listen and share a little of the local know-how.

The farms of Morzine: immersion in the real thing

You’ve probably guessed it: in Morzine, you can also eat in the mountains. Our farms open their doors for you to discover their daily lives, their products and their passion.

🐄 La Ferme de Seraussaix

Perched between Morzine and Avoriaz, this family-run farm produces cheeses, yoghurts and dairy products made from the milk of Montbéliarde cows.

We’ll explain how a tome is made, what a fruit tree is, and why the grass in the mountain pastures gives it such a unique flavour.

And of course, you rarely leave empty-handed…

🐐 La Chèvrerie des Ardoisières

Accessible on foot from Morzine or Avoriaz, this small, high-altitude goat farm is a delight to discover with the whole family. You can watch the milking, stroke the goats, taste their cheeses… and admire the view of the mountains.

A real moment out of time, simple and authentic.

Morzine’s heritage: lanes and memories

Morzine is also a village with a history. A real one. Between the wood, the slate and the mountain life, the traces of the past are everywhere, you just have to keep your eyes open.

  • Take a stroll through the old village: ancient cottages, churches, old granaries… The heritage is visible around every corner.
  • Visit the Ardoisières: in the 19th century, almost 200 slate quarry workers worked here, extracting the schist that still covers the roofs of the valley today. You can visit the old galleries and learn more about this tough but fascinating trade.
  • Fruitière de Morzine: find out how milk is turned into cheese and how life on the mountain pastures is organised.
  • Visit La Battante: one of the last water-powered sawmills in the valley, still in operation. A fine example of preserved know-how, it’s a must-see.

A mountain of expertise… to share

It’s not just the scenery that makes Morzine so special: it’s also the people.

Craftsmen and producers who grew up here and continue to keep traditions alive with passion. It’s often these encounters, a smile on a farm, an anecdote slipped in along the way, that make the most of a stay.
