Whether you’re riding at the Morzine Bikepark, exploring on an e-MTB, enjoying a cross-country ride or simply cycling the trails of the Portes du Soleil, a few simple rules help everyone make the most of the mountains. The bikepark, trails and village are shared spaces. By adopting the right habits, you help keep everyone safe, protect the environment and preserve our incredible playground.

Slow down in the village

After a great day on the trails, remember to adapt your riding when passing through the village.

Pedestrian areas are shared with walkers, children and families. Ride at a reduced speed and get off your bike whenever requested. Respecting pedestrians helps everyone enjoy the village safely.

Safety tips for an awesome ride

1. Choose a trail that matches your ability

The Morzine Bikepark features trails graded by difficulty. Before heading out, take a look at the trail map and choose a route suited to your experience. Don’t overestimate your skills—it’s always better to progress step by step than take unnecessary risks. Remember to check the weather forecast and trail opening status before you ride.

2. Wear the right protective equipment

To enjoy your day safely, proper protection is essential. A helmet is a must, whatever your riding style. We also recommend wearing:

  • Gloves
  • Knee pads
  • Elbow pads
  • A back protector

Before setting off, make sure your bike is in good condition: brakes, tyres, suspension and drivetrain should all be working perfectly.

3. Respect other trail users

In Morzine, the mountains are shared by mountain bikers, hikers, families and local residents. On the bikepark and on shared trails:
– Adapt your speed
– Keep a safe distance.
– Slow down at trail crossings.
– Be courteous and respectful to others.
A friendly attitude goes a long way!

4. Protect your playground

The mountains are a fragile natural environment. Help preserve them by:
– Staying on marked trails.
– Avoiding shortcuts or creating new tracks.
– Taking all your litter home.
– Respecting wildlife and plant life.

By riding responsibly, you help preserve the landscapes and trails that make Morzine and the Portes du Soleil so special.
