The weather makes a big difference to any holiday. When the sun is shining, you can enjoy all sorts of outings and activities, but when it’s cloudy or raining, it’s another story. So, if you’re stuck for things to do on a grey day, check out our short guide to saving your holiday!

An afternoon at the pool complex
Located next to the sports centre and Dérêches Park, the pool complex invites you to take a dip in the heated water!
Keen swimmers will find all the space they need in the main pool to swim up and down to their heart’s content. Children and less experienced swimmers can use the learning pool to improve their stroke, or just splash around in the children’s pool.
And if you want to relax after doing your lengths, the saunas and hammams are at your disposal.

Visit to the Morzine mountain cheese dairy Have you ever visited a ripening cellar? Now is the time! You’ll soon forget about the bad weather in the cool shelter of the cellar, surrounded by all those cheeses. Nicolas Baud, a local cheesemaker, will explain his work and the different stages involved in making Savoie cheese. So next time you eat a piece of tomme, you’ll be able to tell your friends the secrets behind its production! The Sports Centre Skating Rink The indoor rink, home to the Pingouins de Morzine-Avoriaz ice-hockey team, opens its doors to anyone who fancies a little fun on the ice. (See times and prices.) This ice rink also includes an area where children can learn to skate from a very young age. You can rent your skates at the rink before taking to the ice.
After a good skating session, head for the bar to enjoy a refreshing drink and maybe a snack. Try the local food (and drink) specialities You simply cannot visit Haute-Savoie without tasting all the region’s specialities! Unimaginable. And anyway, a rainy day is always a great excuse to eat out.
In Morzine, you’ll have no trouble finding local, seasonal produce, like cheese, charcuterie, beverages and other Savoie specialities, at a whole multitude of restaurants and shops. Conduct an investigation at ‘Room’ Do you enjoy solving riddles? Then it’s time to reveal the investigator who lies within! Try the ‘Room’ experience, for a 60-minute immersion in an escape mission.
This is the ideal activity for adults and teenagers who enjoy a good thrill! Go shopping Last but not least, here’s the perfect pastime to keep you busy and find something from Morzine to take home with you: a shopping spree! Decoration, fashion, souvenirs, sport, regional products… The choice is endless in the multiple shops of Morzine.
