The Morzine Tourist Office processes personal data (hereinafter referred to as “Personal Data”) concerning you in the context of your use of this website (hereinafter referred to as the “Site”). As the data controller, we respect your privacy and protect the personal data of users of our Site.

Data controller
The data controller of your Personal Data is the Morzine Tourist Office, 26 Place du Baraty, 74110 Morzine. Some technical services, such as Info Neige and Tourist Information Systems, are provided by our technical service providers: APIDAE and Lumiplan. According to Article 28 of the GDPR, these providers are bound by a strict confidentiality agreement, prohibiting any use of the data entrusted to them outside of the service contract. They are also required to implement technical and organizational measures that meet security and personal data protection requirements.

Data collected
Personal Data
Personal Data may include the following: name, first name, postal address, email, phone number, company name, etc., and any other Personal Data deemed relevant for the purposes stated below.
Note to Site visitors and users: Some features and functionalities of the Site can only be used if you provide certain Personal Data to the Morzine Tourist Office when visiting or using the Site. You are free to provide all or part of your Personal Data. However, if you choose not to, this may prevent the successful completion of the purposes described below. Some services and functionalities of the Site may not work correctly, and you may be denied access to certain pages of the Site.
Cookies and other trackers
The Site may use cookies or other technologies to collect or store Personal Data. Cookies are text files stored and used to record Personal and Non-Personal Data regarding your browsing on the Site. Cookies can be permanent (remaining after you log out to be used on future visits) or temporary (disappearing as soon as you log out of the Site). The Morzine Tourist Office uses cookies to enhance your user experience, including:
- Enabling the service to recognize your device, so you don’t have to provide the same information multiple times to perform the same task.
- Recognizing your username and password so that you don’t have to enter them again on each page requesting them.

Data retention
By data type:
- Civil status data (name, first name, postal address, etc.): maximum of 3 years.
- Connection data: maximum of 3 years.
- Location data: 48 hours.
We retain your Personal Data only for the necessary and proportional duration for which it was collected, i.e., a maximum of 3 years from the last interaction initiated by you. After these periods, your data will be permanently deleted or anonymized.
Article 5 –
Purposes of collecting personal data
As stated above, you voluntarily provide your Personal Data. Personal Data is generally collected to meet the needs of the Morzine Tourist Office, such as improving its marketing and advertising efforts, better tailoring its products and services to customer needs, fulfilling legal reporting obligations, and similar activities. The Morzine Tourist Office collects and uses your Personal Data for its activities, notably for the following purposes:
We process your data, in whole or in part, for the purposes of:
- Managing and processing personal accounts;
- Handling and managing information requests;
- Managing newsletter subscriptions;
- Managing contest participation;
- Promoting partner establishments.
Subject to applicable local laws, by providing your email address, you explicitly authorize the Morzine Tourist Office to use it, along with other relevant Personal Data, to send you commercial or marketing messages. The Morzine Tourist Office may also use your email address for administrative or non-marketing purposes (e.g., to notify you of significant changes to the Site).

Conditions for processing and storing personal data
The “processing” of Personal Data includes, but is not limited to, the use, storage, recording, transfer, adaptation, analysis, modification, sharing, and destruction of Personal Data as necessary in accordance with legal requirements. All Personal Data collected is stored for a limited period, depending on the purpose of the processing, and only for the time stipulated by applicable law. All Personal Data collected is stored within mainland France.

Links to Websites Not Controlled by the Morzine Tourist Office
The Site may provide links to third-party websites that may interest you. The Morzine Tourist Office has no control over the content of third-party sites or their practices regarding the protection of Personal Data they may collect. As a result, the Morzine Tourist Office disclaims any responsibility for the processing of your Personal Data by these third parties. It is your responsibility to inform yourself about the personal data protection policies of these third parties.
Article 8 –
Transfer of Personal Data
If you access the Site from a non-EU country where data collection, use, and transfer laws differ from those of the European Union, please note that by continuing to use the Site, which is governed by French law and corresponding terms of use and this Policy, you are transferring your Personal Data to the EU and consenting to this transfer.
Your Personal Data may be disclosed within the Morzine Tourist Office for the purposes stated in Article 3 of this Policy. The Morzine Tourist Office may transfer your Personal Data outside the European Union, provided that before doing so, it ensures that entities outside the EU provide adequate protection in compliance with applicable European laws. Additionally, the Tourist Office may share your Personal Data with third-party partners when co-sponsoring events or joint marketing campaigns.

Right to Access and Rectify Data
You have the right to access and correct your Personal Data. You may request corrections or updates if your data is inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unclear.
Right to Erasure of Data
You may request the deletion of your Personal Data under the following conditions:
- The data is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected.
- You withdraw your previously given consent.
- You object to the data processing for legitimate reasons.
- The processing of the data is not compliant with applicable law.
However, this right cannot be exercised if retaining the data is legally necessary (e.g., for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims).
Right to Restrict Data Processing
You can request the restriction of your data processing in certain legally provided situations.
Right to Object to Data Processing
You have the right to object to data processing when it is based on the legitimate interest of the data controller.
Right to Data Portability
As of May 25, 2018, you have the right to data portability for your Personal Data. This right applies to:

Right to Lodge a Complaint
You may file a complaint with the CNIL in France without prejudice to other administrative or judicial remedies.
Right to Set Post-Mortem Instructions
You may define instructions regarding the management of your Personal Data after your death, either with a certified third party responsible for ensuring these wishes are respected.
How to Exercise Your Rights
All the above rights can be exercised by:

You will receive a procedure to verify your identity. Documents sent during this procedure will be destroyed, and any data collected will be permanently deleted afterward. Requests not following these directives will be ignored. We will respond to your requests within one month, which may extend by up to two months if necessary.
Exceptions
We may not be obligated to respond to your request for information if:
- You already have this information.
- The collection or communication of your data is legally required.
- It is impossible to provide the information.
- Providing the information would require disproportionate efforts.
Article 10 –
Data Security and Recipients
The Morzine Tourist Office ensures the protection and confidentiality of Personal Data you choose to share to prevent unauthorized access, damage, or disclosure. Protective measures include physical, electronic, and organizational safeguards.
