This summer, the Trail des Hauts-Forts is back for another edition on 9 August 2025, confirming once again its status as one of the must-do trail events of the summer in the Alps. In Morzine, it’s not just a competition. We’re talking about a challenge, an authentic village atmosphere, and an exceptional opportunity to push yourself to your limits… in front of some of the most beautiful scenery in the Portes du Soleil.

A trail 100% mountain, 100% authentic
Running between Morzine and Avoriaz, the Trail des Hauts-Forts takes you right to the heart of the mountains, where each route takes you over passes, crests, forests and mountain pastures, with the added bonus of breathtaking views of the Dents du Midi, Mont Blanc and the Vallée d’Aulps.
There’s no tarmac here, and no easy routes: the courses are technical, but always well-marked and supervised. Whether you’re looking for a performance or just a run in the great outdoors, you’ll find something to suit you.

Courses to suit all profiles
The Trail des Hauts-Forts offers four formats to suit all levels of ability:
- Les Hauts-Forts – 52 km / 3,820 m D+ The top event. A demanding loop for the most experienced, with a series of aerial and panoramic sections.
- Le Fornet – 36 km / 2,820 m D+ Shorter but just as intense, perfect for trained runners who want to experience the DNA of the trail.
- Les Mines d’Or – 23 km / 1,820 m D+ An accessible format for those who want to get to grips with the mountains or play the speed card on technical terrain.
- Le Relais – 52 km for two The duo option: share the effort and emotion with a partner.

And after the finish line?
The race is one thing. But the aftermath is just as important. After the effort, Morzine offers a thousand ways to recuperate (or prolong the pleasure). A swim in Lake Montriond, a spa session, a well-deserved beer on the terrace, a leisurely stroll or simply a rest in front of the mountains…
And if you’re coming with your family, don’t worry: there’s plenty to keep them occupied with all the summer activities on offer in Morzine.
