Self-guided tours of the Battante Morzinoise

Discover the work of sawing wood in an authentic sawmill, restored by members of the "La Battante Morzinoise" association! The smell of sawdust, the paddle wheel, the cogs and the beating saw. An ancestral heritage.
This year, 2023, you can also discover 2 temporary exhibitions inside La Battante, one on forests and wood presented by the ONF (Office National des Forêts) and the other on the museum project currently out to tender for completion in 2024/2025.

Do you know the “battante”? It’s the name that the people of Morzine used to give to their sawmills, powered by the torrents. “La Battante Morzinoise” invites you to discover the world of sawmills, a veritable world of insiders!
