Anthony Chalençon is visually impaired due to retinal degeneration. Since 2013, he has shared everything with his guide, top-level athlete Lucas Duperrex.
Together, they became world champions with the French parasport team in the relay event at the World Championships in Cable in the USA.
A former alpine skier who took part in the Paralympic Games in Vancouver in 2010, Anthony Chalençon and his guide Lucas Duperrex are back, but on the international Nordic ski circuit this time. After only 2 years in this new discipline, Anthony brought home his first gold medal in relay from the World Championships in Cable (USA) in 2015.
In 2018, his guide was Simon Valverde with whom he participated in the Olympic Games in Pyongchang. Now, his guide is Brice Ottonello. When he competed in the Paralympic Games in Beijing in 2022, he won the silver medal in open relay with his partner Benjamin Daviet, assisted by their guides Brice Ottonello and Alexandre Pouyé. This medal was the 11th for the French team at these Games.
