Anthony Chalençon is visually impaired due to retinal degeneration. Since 2013, he has shared his journey with his guide Lucas Duperrex, a high-level athlete.
Together, they became world champions with the French para-sports team in the relay event at the World Championships in Cable, USA. A former alpine skier who participated in the Vancouver Paralympics in 2010, Anthony Chalençon has since found his place on the international Nordic skiing circuit alongside his guide, Lucas Duperrex. After just two years in this new discipline, he won his first gold medal in the relay at the World Championships in Cable (USA) in 2015.
In 2018, his guide was Simon Valverde, with whom he participated in the Pyeongchang Olympic Games. Since then, his guide has been Brice Ottonello. During the 2022 Paralympic Games in Beijing, he won a silver medal in the open relay, teaming up with Benjamin Daviet and receiving support from his guides Brice Ottonello and Alexandre Pouyé. This medal also marked the 11th medal for the French delegation at these Games.
