Ideas for walks and hiking trails starting from Morzine
If you are visiting Morzine for the first time, you are likely looking for ideas for walks or hikes to do from the resort. We have listed below the most popular walks, all of which are accessible to everyone.

This green gem in the heart of Morzine, alongside the Dranse River, is the must-visit Sunday spot for locals—a true classic, one might say!

The Crests of Pleney and Super Morzine are accessible by the ski lifts. They offer various marked walking routes with excellent sun exposure and stunning views of the valley and surrounding peaks.

Lake Montriond, located in the immediate vicinity of Morzine, is served by a free shuttle. This wild, Canadian-like site features a lovely loop of about 3 km around the third largest natural lake in Haute-Savoie. If we could give you just one piece of advice, it would be to continue the walk through the forest to the Ardent Waterfall!

Sentier du renard trail is a “nature” walk that starts in the heart of the village and follows the Dranse River along the old path to the Nyon pastures. Along the way, a permanent exhibition allows children to discover the life of the fox, the natural environment along the river, and the geology of the valley. They are greeted at the entrance of the trail by a lovely statue of a fox. If you decide to take this walk, one tip is to follow the signs to the Nyon Waterfall. The spot is simply stunning and only a few hundred meters from the Fox Trail. The more adventurous can continue their journey to the Mines d’Or Lake or even to the Col de Cou, marking the border between France and Switzerland.

You can obtain the “paper” version of the trail map for €2 at the Tourist Office reception. This map is also available for free download. Feel free to draw inspiration from the routes detailed on it for your upcoming walks around Morzine.
