The First Cross-Border Ski Area

In addition to being the first French-Swiss cross-border ski area, the Portes du Soleil is one of the largest ski areas in the Alps. Between France and Switzerland, the region offers majestic panoramas and a complete escape!

Two countries, two currencies, two ways of life, one shared language with melodious but distinct accents, and a mutual love for the mountains.

The 12 stations—both traditional and avant-garde—forming this region have retained the charm of Chablais mountain life. This unique setup allows vacationers to travel “ski-in, ski-out” between countries. It’s a journey within a journey, crossing borders and inviting you to enjoy scenic, relaxing, sporty, or culinary adventures, perfect for all ages.

There’s something for everyone in the Portes du Soleil! #BeyondBorders

An Alpine Domain with Endless Possibilities

With 600 km of slopes and 208 ski lifts, you can explore the 12 French-Swiss stations of the domain. The area also offers a variety of winter activities: dedicated slopes for new ski styles, routes for ski touring, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sled rides, snowmobiling, and more. There’s no time for boredom! On the slopes, you can start skiing in France and finish in Switzerland, or vice versa.

If you’re a beginner, don’t worry—the Portes du Soleil ski area, located in the French and Swiss Alps, includes slopes for all levels:

  • Green slopes ideal for learning,
  • Blue slopes for gentle progression,
  • Red slopes for stepping up your game,
  • And black slopes to offer thrill-seekers the ultimate adrenaline rush.
