There is such a wide variety of slopes including beautiful, winding slopes lined with trees and steep runs for experts that we can guarantee nobody will get bored. Portes du Soleil offers a wide variety of landscapes for an extremely varied skiing experience. There are wide, open slopes and superb slopes lined with trees that wind through the forests, gentle slopes for beginners with ski carpet lifts, steep and straight black runs, fun areas for children and supervised freeriding areas for fans of off-piste skiing. Not-to-mention the welcoming little villages that you can ski straight down into at the end of the day. Portes du Soleil is also well-known as a popular ski area for skiers looking for a gourmet experience! The mountain restaurants are cosy places to stop off for a break from skiing and enjoy surprising, top-quality cuisine.

And it is above all a family friendly resort. There are even special family ski passes! The fun areas in Morzine that were designed especially for children were all given a makeover for winter 22-23. The Penguin Park at the Le Pleney peak now boasts plenty of new modules and games that are guaranteed to keep the little ones excited about skiing! As you head down towards the village, you’ll come across the Chemin des Zouzous which is a special gentle slope through the forest on the theme of local wildlife with animal statues dotted along the descent. There’s a new boardercross and a bigger fun park on the Nyon slopes. This is the perfect place to come and practice your jumps and improve your skills without the pressure that comes with the bigger parks.

While Morzine and Portes du Soleil have come together to form one of the biggest ski areas in the world, they also offer the opportunity to take skiing lessons which will do wonders for your self-confidence. Morzine is the perfect resort if you’re going skiing for the first time, thanks to the gentle slopes in the beginner’s area. Whether you’d like to go skiing for the first time, practice your parallel skiing down bends or learn off-piste skiing, there are lessons available with a professional ski instructor who will tailor their lessons to your needs and provide you with all the expert advice and recommendations you’ll need.
